Each year CAHAM recognizes one individual with the Carl Satterfield Award. This prestigious award is bestowed upon one member at the Annual Educational Conference. The award is named in honor of the co-founder of CAHAM, Carl Satterfield. Carl helped pave the road for the careers and opportunities we all enjoy today. Nominees for this award will demonstrate qualities and characteristics listed below:  

• Graciousness in their dealings with others, unselfishness and generous contribution of time and talents
• Special and outstanding service, innovative in thinking problems through to solutions and establishing new and/or better programs
• Working with department personnel bringing out the best in each individual and, therefore, having in their hospitals, an admission process that is efficient and patient oriented
• Outstanding career accomplishments
